Now that video mediation is here to stay, we should do all we can to enable it to work smoothly and effectively. The video platform doesn’t perform nearly as well when a single camera must cover multiple participants. It is a bit unwieldy, but workable, when two people seated side by side share a single camera, but three or more doesn’t work well and should be avoided. So to enhance the quality of a mediation conference try to arrange for each participant to use their own computer device with its own camera.
